The second volume includes a section on the Rossi Library by I.V. Alekseeva (pp. 22–37), with an introductory essay about its development, prerevolutionary holdings, and their postrevolutionary fate, together with colored photographs of title pages, frontispieces, and illustrations from many of the volumes.

Includes a facsimile of the 1903 edition Pavlovskii dvorets: Khudozhestvennye sokrovishcha Rossii. (Lib: MH). A detailed, richly illustrated album presenting facsimile editions of several prerevolutionary accounts, including the pamphlet, “Materialy dlia opisaniia khudozhestvennykh sokrovishch Pavlovska” (SPb, 1903), based on a description by Empress Maria Fedorovna, with supplemental commentaries and photographs. Additional articles about the palace, its history, and holdings include one by A. Prakhov on the library—“Biblioteka Rossi” (pp. 343–46), listing many of the original holdings.

An exhibition catalogue of 54 books (including several manuscripts) from the prerevolutionary Pavlovsk library, including 37 books that belonged to Empress Maria Feodorovna, 3 that belonged to Catherine II, and 15 to Paul I. h-1146.1. Firsov, G. “Biblioteka Rossi v Pavlovskom dvortse-muzee.” Al'manakh bibliofila 6 (1979), pp. 66–72. (Lib: DLC; IU; MH). Describes the Rossi Library including manuscript books and its graphic collections, only part of which remain today in Pavlovsk. Part of the library was sold abroad after the Revolution, and the remaining part was looted by the Nazis during World War II. Many of the Nazi-looted books were returned to the USSR, but it is not possible to establish the exact losses or their present location.
