Archival materials are held as part of the museum's larger Division of Fonds. The museum holds 21 personal fonds, connected in one way or another with the life of Aleksandr Sergeevich Pushkin, his ancestors, his relatives, his descendents, and his friends. These papers include the family archives of the Gannibal, the Goncharov, the Nashchokin, the Malinovskii, the Ivashev, the Khomutov, and the Rall' families. There are diaries, property-management records, and correspondence. Also held here are the personal papers of the Pushkin scholars M.A. and T.G. Tsiavlovskii and B.V. Tomashevskii.
        The archival collections include lists of the works of such Russian writers as G.R. Derzhavin, K.F. Ryleev, A.S. Pushkin, V.A. Zhukovskii, A.S. Griboedov, and P.A. Viazemskii. There are domestic albums covering the years 1820 to 1860 and containing diary-type notes, verses, and drawings. The archives also have collections of letters and original manuscripts by such contemporaries of Pushkin as V.A. Zhukovskii, E.A. Baratynskii, I.I. Dmitriev, M.F. Orlov, and A.P. Kern. Then there are collections of domestic and property-management documents, which include petitions, deeds of purchase, orders for post-horses, leave of absence certificates, nobility charters, certificates of civil rank, military and civilian printed edicts, as well as collections of manuscript and printed musical scores. The museum also has a number of original works by numerous twentieth-century writers, poets, painters and critics, such as A.M. Gor'kii, V.V. Veresaev, and R.M. Glier, among others.
