Opening hours: F 10:00–18:00Holdings Total: 15,882 units; 18th–20th cc. iconographic materials—13,646 units The Genealogy Sector of the museum’s Book Division (Otdel knizhnykh fondov) contains the nineteenth-century genealogical collection (including photographs) made by the famous Moscow genealogist Iu.B. Shmarov. The collections include genealogical tables and lists together with excerpts from published and archival sources, and original documents from the eighteenth to the twentieth century taken from family archives. The iconographic part of the collection consists chiefly of photographs attached to identification documents, the reverse side of which contains the biographical details of the person photographed. Reference facilities: The documents in the sector are in the process of being arranged. |
