This division contains recordings of Russian and foreign operas, church music, canticles, romances, jazz, and music-hall songs. There are also excerpts from plays and literary works performed by some of the finest actors on the Russian stage.
The cinema-document fond contains documentary films, excerpts from plays and rehearsals, complete recordings of plays, and feature films. There are also documentaries on the life and work of directors, actors, and other persons involved in the Russian dramatic and music theaters.
Reference facilities:
There are opisi of the fonds, inventories of the main gramophone record fond, a registration card catalogue, and an alphabetic-subject catalogue.
Copy facilities:
Copies of video and sound recordings can be made in conformity with the general rules for all museums upon cash payment or a letter of guarantee from an organization.
