Pseudonym of Pedro Pagés Elias; born in Spain 1916; scholar, writer; member of the Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista (POUM) during the Spanish Civil War; persecuted, went into exile; active in Paris and Latin America; became a publicist on politics, the labour movement, Spanish and Latin-American society; professor of political sciences at Kent State University, Ohio, USA.
