Biography
Mathilde F. Anneke-Giesler (1817-1884) and Fritz Anneke (1818-1872) both born in Westphalia; after the failure of the 1848 Revolution in Germany they emigrated to the USA, where Fritz became a journalist and Mathilda campaigned for women's rights and against slavery.
