History
Spanish trade union movement; emerged in the early sixties; consisted of spontaneously formed factory committees outside the official trade union; illegal but sometimes more or less tolerated, soon under communist influence; defended a revolutionary position in the Franco period but accepted the new political situation after 1975 and became a partner in the Moncloa pacts; obtained in the 1980s 35-40% of the delegates in factory elections.
