History

The International Institute for Research and Education (IIRE) is an Amsterdam-based centre providing activists and scholars around the world with opportunities for research and education; the IIRE was founded in Brussels 1980 and moved some years later to Amsterdam; frequently it is associated with two leaders of the Fourth International Ernest Mandel and Livio Maitan, both founding fellows of the Institute; the IIRE organizes courses, seminars and study groups; for further information see http://www.iire.org.
