Biography

Born in 1937, died in El Salvador 1982; Dutch journalist and publicist; involved in Latin-American liberation movements; active in Chile, Peru and Central America; imprisoned in the stadium of Santiago after the Pinochet coup in 1973; one of the four IKON (a Dutch broadcasting corporation) journalists murdered by the military in El Salvador in 1982.

Reports, leaflets, pamphlets, copies of periodicals, posters, clippings and other printed material collected by Koos Koster, in particular relating to human rights and opposition movements in Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and other Latin American countries.

Arrangement

The preliminary list made by Gusto Mendoza in the 1970s (see invno. 160) was edited and corrected by Lex Wouterloot in 2011; each folder of the collection has a separate inventory number, these numbers (in the margin left) must be used by application of the material.
