History
The Medienkontrollrat of the German Democratic Republic was founded February 1990 after the collapse of the Berlin Wall in November 1989. The Medienkontrollrat was a follow-up of the Round Table talkings. The Medienkontrollrat had about fifty members and was independent of the State. After the decision to reunite West and East Germany the Medienkontrollrat lost its reason of existence. The last meeting took place in September 1990.
