Biography

Born in Amsterdam 1919; trained as one of the last Dutch mounted cavalry officers, he served in the Dutch army; during the Second World War active in the Dutch Resistance, also as a photographer; emigrated to the USA 1948; worked in the motion picture and television industry as a technical, historical and script advisor; later president of the Malibu Institute Inc., working as writer, consultant and researcher; returned to the Netherlands in 1990 together with his American wife actress/educator Susanne Severeid; published When Santa was a Shaman on the ancient pagan origins of winter feasts and traditions and Het geheim van Sinterklaas en de Kerstman 1996.
