Biography

Born in Hirschberg, Germany 1890, date and place of death unknown; studied in Germany and Oxford; worked as bank employee in Breslau 1921-1924; private secretary of Wolfgang Heine 1924-1928; worked at the Party archive of the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD); emigrated in 1933 to Prague and became an archive employee for the SOPADE and the Deutsche Sozialdemokratische Arbeiterpartei in der Tschechoslowakischen Republik (DSAP); emigrated to England in 1939; correspondent for the International Institute of Social History (IISH) to collect material for its archive.
