Biography

Born in Innsbruck, Austria 1952; feminist journalist en writer; studied German, History of Art and Philosophy; moved to Cologne, where she became journalist and editor of the feminist magazine Emma 1979-1987; arrested in 1987 on the charge of membership of the alleged terrorist groups Revolutionäre Zellen and Rote Zora and of involvement in the preparation of a bomb attack on a Lufthansa office in Cologne which was directed against the expulsion of refugees; sentenced to a five years prison term in 1989, she was released in 1990 after revocation of the judgement; since 1990 working as freelance writer, journalist and filmmaker; published books on the resistance of Jews and women in the Third Reich and on feminism and the position of women.
