Born in Gent, Belgium 1896, died in Brussels 1978; taxi driver; from 1925 member of the Central Committee of the Parti Communiste de Belgique (PCB); active in Brussels in the International Left Opposition (ILO)/International Communist League (ICL), Belgian Section 1928-1935, groupe Spartakus 1935-1937, Parti Socialiste Révolutionnaire (PSR) 1937-1938 and Tendance Marxiste Révolutionnaire (TMR) 1964-1978; edited Contre le Courant 1938-1945.
