The Fuerzas Armadas Peronistas (Peronist Armed Forces) were founded as a movement in 1967; the Marxist militant group 'Vasco' Bengochea was dominating the organization; the FAP refused to integrate in the official structures of Peronism; a section of the FAP, led by Carlos Caride and Envar 'Cacho' El Kadri (1941-1998), separated in 1973 and formed the 'FAP 17 de Octubre'; under the Argentine military dictatorship between 1976 and 1983 the members of the FAP were heavily prosecuted.
