History

Faction within international Trotskyism; originated after the Second World War in Argentina around Juan Posadas (pseudonym of Homero Cristali); extended its influence to other Latin-American Trotskyist parties; its position that the victory of socialism would follow an unavoidable nuclear world war brought it into conflict with other Trotskyist currents in the early 1960s; a cult around Posadas (died 1981) as well as the extremely rich funds supporting a large-scale propaganda characterized the movement.
