The aim of the ESSHC is bringing together scholars interested in explaining historical phenomena using the methods of the social sciences.
The conference is characterized by a lively exchange in many small groups, rather than by formal plenary sessions. The conference welcomes papers and sessions on any historical topic and any historical period. It is organized in 28 networks, which cover a certain topic. There are two new networks: Material and Consumer Culture and Politics, Nations, Nationalism (a merger of the Politics and Nations networks). The conference language is English.

Personal page

On the website you can log on to your Personal page. After the pre-registration you will receive a log-in and password. With these you can log on to your personal page. The personal page shows all registration information we have on you and a log of the e-mails we have sent to date.
The advantage is that you can always check what information we have sent you and when. Sometimes our e-mail messages disappear in spam filters, but via this personal page the info in these mails can always be retrieved. You also need to log on with the password/log-in combination to upload your paper and for the final registration and payment (information on payment will follow in the Fall of 2009).
