Martin Monnickendam, Petition movement for universal suffrage, ca. 1911

Only men whose income exceeded a certain threshold were entitled to vote. Liberals and social democrats campaigned for General Suffrage. In this petition drive they gathered over 300,000 signatures, a vast number at the time.
