The prices for 1450-1800 are taken from:
Jan Luiten van Zanden, The prices of the most important consumer goods, and indices of wages and the cost of living in the western part of the Netherlands, 1450-1800 (data supplied by Jan de Vries, Jan Pieter Smits and Arthur van Riel). This file is also available on this website.

The data for 1800-1913 are taken from:
Arthur van Riel, Indices of the cost of living, 1800-1913. Further information is available with this datafile on this website.

Between 1913 and 1998 the data are taken from Jan Luiten van Zanden who has created the index from CBS-indices.
From 1998 on these data are supplemented from the CBS index.
