First Five Year Plan (1953-1957)
In the following illustrations, more specific specific guidelines are
given to increase agricultural production: improvement of water
management and irrigation in the fields and a greater use of new
farming machinery and equipment (below left); and increased
fertilization and a better selection of seeds and plants.
The poster below left provides information about
pests and vermin and means to combat them, as well as giving details
about new and better ways to plough the soil. The poster on the right
provides information on animal husbandry, the only sheet in the series
to do so.
The poster below left introduces the necessity of
and the ways to improve water conservancy work. The poster on the right
spells out the larger issues at stake in forestry work.
