Du Qi 杜琦


Du Qi (1924) graduated in 1943 from Chongqing Normal College and continued his studies in the Fine Arts Department of Central University and the Western Painting Departement of the Hangzhou National Art School, where he completed his degree in 1948. He joined the People's Liberation Army in 1949. While in the army, Du was mainly active in art work and the publishing sector. He transferred to the civilian sector in 1955, and subsequently worked for the Chongqing People's Publishing House, the Sichuan People's Publishing House and the Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing House. Du retired in 1989.

Du's media are cartoons, New Year pictures, woodcuts and water colors.
