Liu Zhide 刘志德


Liu Zhide (1939) is a native of Huxian, Shaanxi Province. He has been fond of painting and folk art since childhood. He received training at the Mass Art Center of Xianyang district, the Mass Art Center of Shaanxi Province, and at Shaanxi Daily. Liu, who is one of the best-known representatives of the Huxian peasant painters, devoted many of his works to aspects of  farm life.

The poster above is considered Liu's masterpiece. It has been reproduced in numerous newspapers and magazines, and even as a stamp.

Liu has participated in many provincial, national and international exhibitions. He himself has served as Party secretary of his village, and has been the chairman of its cultural center.
