Qin Wenmei is not an individual artist, but stands for Shaanxi (Qin 秦) Cultural Bureau (Wen[huaju] 文化局) Art Creation Group
(Mei[shu chuangzuozu] 美术创作组). The name was used for collaborative works produced in Xi’an, Shaanxi Pronvince.

The group did not have a large permanent staff of
artists, but organized local talent when and where necessary for
specific projects. One of the participants was Liu Wenxi.
