Xin Liliang 忻礼良


Xin Liliang (1912) is from Yinxian, Zhejiang Province. In the 1930s, he designed commercial adverts for the Shanghai Shengsheng Fine Arts Company, and in the 1940s, he made film posters for the Zhonghua Film Company. He was attached to the Shanghai Reproduction Publishing House in 1955 to design New Year pictures. He joined the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House in 1959, where he still designs nianhua 年画.

As can be seen from the poster above right, Xin is specialized in calendar-style New Year pictures.
