Conferences
From its very beginnings, the International Institute of Social History, in addition to collecting documents and keeping them safe, has also promoted research in the field of social history. The Middle-Eastern and Central Asian department of the Institute in its relatively brief existence has organized discussions and debates, proposed research on social history, as well as collecting documents on the social movements in the region. The events it has organized have been held in Amsterdam as well as in other countries. By holding meetings in other countries, the Institute aimed to familiarize other researchers with the views and opinions of its own researchers. Some of these meetings were:
- The Comintern and the Orient. Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, 1997
- Ethnicity and the Formation of the Modern State. Anatolia, Turkey, 1997.
