Born 1950. Studied economic and social history at the University of Amsterdam (1971-1977); research assistant at the Free University (Faculty of History and Arts) and the University of Amsterdam (Economic Faculty). Published on economic growth in the Netherlands. In 1987 librarian of the Economic History Library, part of the Nederlandsch-Economisch Historisch Archief (NEHA), Amsterdam.
Since 1992 research staff member for collection development IISH (new social movements and economic history). Published on collecting, compiled several bibliographies and webmaster NEHA. From July 2003 onwards also head library IISH.
