International Women's Day 8 March was created by the socialist women's movement in 1921 and is celebrated world wide since 1975. The Pankhurst sisters, Adela, Sylvia, and Christabel received the ideals of the feminist movement from their mother Emmeline. All three would play a prominent part in it during the twenties.
