Chernobyl Closed

An official ceremony was held on 15 December 2000 to celebrate the closing of the nuclear power plant Chernobyl. Researching health problems due to the explosion in 1986 however did not end. Not only the World Health Organization was active in this field, but so was Greenpeace. At first sight, laboratory research into radiation syndrome looks less spectacular than most of the other activities which made Greenpeace known world wide. The photo archive of Greenpeace at the IISH shows this other side of Greenpeace just as well.
