On 17 July 1985 the Australian Socialist Workers Party responds to a speech by President Reagan about an international terrorist syndicate that includes Cuba, Nicaragua, North Korea, Libya, and Iran. "Certainly the US seems to have more than its share of misfits and squalid criminals and is responsible for far more terrorism than any of the governments castigated by Reagan." The Socialist Workers Party (now Democratic Socialist Perspective) and its newspaper, Direct Action was Trotskyist.
