On September 18, 1970 Jimi Hendrix dies after an overdosis of pills. The year before this picture was shot in New York by the artist Ira Cohen. Cohen had developed a so called Mylar Chamber, in which he photographed friends and colleagues in bendable mirrors. In this way he hoped to surpass the pictured person and grab the supernatural. The CSD collection contains fifteen slides by Ira Cohen, of Jimi Hendrix, William Burroughs, John Maclaughlin, and Angus Maclise.
