The marriage of the Dutch crown princess and the German Claus von Amsberg was disturbed by demonstrations by Amsterdam youth. Pictures of the smoke bomb were spread around the world. The police used excessive violence to stop the provos. Nine days later a photo exhibition showed the police violence, which again provoked the police, causing it to once again to react in a heavy handed way. Louis van Gasteren made shots on the spot for his film called 'Only Because My Bicycle was There'.
