A Palestinian-Israelian Unity

Al-Ittihad, Tel Aviv, 14 September 1963

ZF 40011

Al-Ittihad (Unity) represents the Palestinian-Israelian Communist Party, advocate of one bi-national state. The newspaper is bilingual Hebrew and Arabic and printed in Tel Aviv. On 24 September 1963 Al-Ittihad covers the release of Palestinian inhabitants of the villages al-Tira and al-Tiba in Israel. Protesting against the destruction of their homes, they had been on hunger strike for six days. According to the newspaper, after their release they "thank the Jewish workers and youth for their solidarity and support to the just cause." (text Roel Meijer)
