At the third Olympic games for workers in Antwerp in 1937, the threat of fascism was clearly visible. The communists had always been excluded from the labour Olympiad, but this year for the first time the Russians participated. Highlight of the Olympiad was the entry of the Spanish delegation, which for a week had left the Civil War behind them. Their armed car and banner "No pasaran" aroused many cheers.
