No Poverty in d'Orient

d'Orient, Indië's geïllustreerd weekblad

In the 'poverty issue' of d'Orient, Dutch East Indies illustrated weekly, nothing about real poverty is to be found. Only the three serial novels in this magazine treat the poverty subject, but situated in western Europe. D'Orient offers many pictures about events for the Dutch in Indonesia, such as, in this issue of 29 December 1923, the arrival of submarines in Priok harbour and the 'famous musician Paul Vinogradoff' in Batavia. This family magazine printed on thick glossy paper, existed from 1923 till 1942.
