The Dutch Federation of Trade Unions (Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging FNV) may spread its jubilee celebrations over two years. On February 26, 1905, a meeting took place in the building of the Diamond Workers' Union (now Trade Union Museum) in Amsterdam. There it was decided to establish a federation of trade unions. The official founding date was 30 July 1905, at a meeting that fixed the annual member contribution at ten cents. At that meeting it was also decided that the federation would officially start in January 1906. Thus, the trade union movement celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1956, although its centenary is in 2005.
