This typewriter was used to produce the Amsterdam edition of the illegal communist newspaper De Waarheid during the German occupation (1940).
De Waarheid (The Truth) was one of the most influential resistance newspapers during the German occupation. The first issue appeared on 23 November 1940 in a run of 6000 copies.
